About PDFengine
PDFengine (pdfen.com) is an online service that turns documents into reliable PDFs: email, Office files, images and drawings, merged, compressed, made searchable or ready for print. It used to be called PDFen; you may still see that name in older links and reviews.
What PDFengine does
- Converts email (EML, MSG, Outlook PST and OST) to PDF, with headers and attachments.
- Converts Office files, images, CAD drawings and ZIP archives to PDF and PDF/A.
- Merges, splits, compresses and OCRs PDFs.
- Prepares print-ready PDFs: CMYK, PDF/X, bleed, n-up imposition and a free print-ready check.
- Extracts data from PDFs and web pages to Excel, CSV or JSON.
- Creates verifiable proof that a document or email existed and was not altered.
Who uses it
Individuals who need one file converted, teams and organizations that share credits, and developers who connect through the REST API or the MCP server for AI assistants such as Claude. Customers include public bodies such as the Municipality of Heemstede in the Netherlands.
How we work
- PDFengine runs on its own server in a data center in Amsterdam. For some Office and image conversions we use an external conversion service in the EU.
- Your source file is deleted as soon as the conversion has finished; results are stored encrypted and deleted after 7 days.
- You pay with credits. A free account comes with 15 credits; paid plans and one-time credit packs are on the pricing page.
