No. The redaction, watermark and PDF are all created inside your browser. Your document never reaches our servers, so there is nothing for us to store or leak.

Can the black boxes be removed from the PDF?

No. The boxes and watermark are flattened into the image at full resolution, so the pixels underneath are permanently gone. This is the key difference from tools that lay a removable box over the text.

Which fields should I cover?

Why redact a copy of your ID

Banks, landlords, gyms and online services often ask for a copy of your passport or ID. A plain copy hands over far more than they need — and once it is out of your hands, you cannot get it back.

Identity fraud

A full ID copy with your document number and date of birth is enough for someone to open accounts or take out credit in your name.

Share only what is needed

Mark the purpose
