URL to text

Extract the text of a webpage

Paste a public URL and we render the live page, then hand you its clean plain text — without the menus, ads and cookie clutter.

Advanced

Optional: wait until this element has loaded before capturing, e.g. #content or .price.

Optional: return only the text inside these elements, e.g. article or .price.

Copy-paste from the browser is messy

The usual way

  • Copy-pasting drags along menus, buttons and ad text.
  • The cookie banner blocks the content you actually want.
  • Doing it for many pages by hand is slow.

With PDFengine

  • A headless browser renders the page and extracts its readable text.
  • Cookie walls and ads are blocked automatically.
  • Extract many URLs at once and get them as a ZIP.

How it works

1

Paste your URLs

Add one public link per line — up to 20 at once.

2

We extract the text

A headless browser renders each page and pulls out the readable text.

3

Download your text

One URL gives a .txt file; several give a ZIP with one file per page.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do I get?

A plain-text (.txt) file with the readable content of the page — menus, buttons and ads are left out as much as possible.

Does it keep the formatting?

No — this returns plain text, not layout. For a faithful visual copy, use URL to PDF or URL to PNG instead.

Can I extract several URLs at once?

Yes — paste up to 20 URLs, one per line. Multiple URLs give a ZIP with one text file per page.

Do I need an account?

You can try it without signing up. Downloading requires a free account, and each extracted URL uses one credit.
