Production imposition

Impose your PDF on print sheets

Upload your finished pages and we lay them out on an SRA3 print sheet — with crop and registration marks, a colour bar, bleed and work-and-turn. Ready to send straight to the press.

The difference

Manual imposition is slow and error-prone

  • Placing pages on a sheet by hand in a layout app eats hours.
  • Crop marks, registration marks and a colour bar all have to be added correctly.
  • Get the work-and-turn order wrong and the whole run prints backwards.
  • Every job means rebuilding the same sheet setup from scratch.

A press-ready sheet in one step

  • Upload your pages and we impose them on an SRA3 sheet automatically.
  • Crop marks, registration marks and a colour bar are placed for you.
  • Bleed and work-and-turn are handled so the sheet prints correctly.
  • Save your setup as a reusable template for the next job.

Frequently asked questions

What is imposition?

Imposition arranges your finished pages on a larger print sheet in the right positions and order, so that after printing, folding and cutting the pages end up correct. It’s the step between your design and the press.

What is work-and-turn?

Work-and-turn prints both the front and back of a sheet from a single plate by flipping the sheet over along one edge. The tool arranges your pages so this flip produces correctly aligned fronts and backs.

Which sheet size is used?

Pages are imposed on SRA3, a standard oversized production sheet that leaves room for bleed and marks. This fits most digital and offset presses.

Can I reuse a setup?

Yes. You can save a sheet setup as a template and apply it to future jobs, so recurring work doesn’t need configuring again.

Does it use credits?

Yes, imposition uses credits per job. New accounts start with free credits so you can try the tool first.
